What If you have SLE..?

If your Medical tests revealed that you have SLE. What kind of diet should be followed?

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease. In which the immune system attacks healthy tissue in the body. This causes tissue damage in the affected organs. It can affect joints, skin, brain, lungs, kidneys, blood vessels. There is no cure for lupus, but medication and lifestyle changes can help control it. People with lupus should eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Depending on which organs the disease affects more, there are dietary rules. Calories and proteins should be taken in moderation. Taking fish or fish oil supplements rich in omega 3 fatty acids can help control inflammation. Olive oil, almonds and walnuts should also be part of the diet. Greens and vegetables should be eaten daily. Highly refined food, bakery snacks, sugar etc. should be completely avoided. Alfalfa sprouts and any products made from that grass should be avoided. Garlic should also be consumed in moderation or avoided altogether.
