What are the uses of barley?

Java is reminiscent of barley. What are the nutritional values โ€‹โ€‹of barley?

Barley seeds are rich in nutrients. 100g of uncooked barley contains 350 calories, 75g of carbohydrates, 13g of protein, 17g of fiber and just 2g of fat. Minerals like B vitamins, iron, magnesium, manganese and selenium are also high in providing energy to our body.

If barley is boiled in water, some of the nutrients in the grains are absorbed into the juice. It is said to drink barley water which is low in fiber and high in carbohydrates as the digestion power is low during fever. But in the absence of fever, instead of drinking boiled water, boiled barley grains can be eaten instead of rice, and unremoved java can be taken as breakfast.

These nuts are rich in beta glucan, a fiber that lowers bad cholesterol, regulates blood sugar levels, and promotes the growth of good bacteria in the colon. Vitamin-E, beta-carotene, lutein, and ziaogangtin, antioxidants present in raw barley seeds, contribute to the repair of living cells. So people of all age groups can make boiled barley seeds a part of their diet.
